Safeguarding and privacy
Cambridge Presbyterian Church is committed to safeguarding and caring for all children, young people and vulnerable adults. We aim to follow guidelines from the government (and other agencies) on safeguarding and good working practice, including safe recruitment of workers.
We undertake to:
- Ensure that all children and vulnerable adults who attend the church’s activities are provided with a safe environment, and protected as far as possible from abuse.
- Ensure that those involved in work with children and vulnerable adults have been DBS checked, are familiar with our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, and undertake regular safeguarding training.
- Ensure that an appropriate response is made in the event of abuse being suspected, disclosed or alleged. All concerns raised will be investigated and action taken in line with our policies.
- Follow statutory guidelines in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and seek advice from Christian Safeguarding Service (CSS) where necessary.
We have a formal Safeguarding Policy and Procedures which can be seen on request from [email protected]. Our Policy and Procedures are reviewed regularly by the Elders.
If you have any concerns for a child or vulnerable adult in relation to any safeguarding matter in the church, then please email or speak to our Safeguarding Lead (Heather Leverton) or Deputy Safeguarding Lead (Anthony Baker). You can contact us at [email protected]
CPC complies with its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the way in which we collect, process and store personal data. You can download a copy of our privacy notice here.
